What’s the difference between the Cigna HSA and Cigna PPO plans?

The Cigna HSA has lower premiums but higher out-of-pocket costs, paired with a Health Savings Account (HSA) for tax-free savings and company HSA match. PPOs offer copays and may offer lower costs for office visits and prescription drugs. Niagara offers several ways for any member enrolled in Medical to obtain low-cost or no-cost primary care services.

How do I decide which medical plan is the right one for me?

The right plan isn’t necessarily the option that has the lowest deductible or the lowest premium per paycheck. Your decision should be based on how you and your covered dependents use health care throughout the year, and how the plan’s costs (premium, coinsurance, copays, deductible, etc.) fit into your budget. First, ask ALEX—an online tool designed to help you choose a medical plan that fits your needs.  ALEX provides a custom experience based on your personal answers to how you prefer to buy and use healthcare.  In addition, to ALEX, be sure to compare the plans by reviewing SBCs and other plan details.

How do I use Teladoc?

  • Through Teladoc 24/7 Care, you and your covered dependents have access to 24/7 urgent care from any US state. Use 24/7 Care for conditions like cold & flu, bronchitis, seasonal allergies, pink eye, UTIs.
  • Through Teladoc’s Virtual Primary Care, you and your covered dependents have access to primary care physicians – the doctors that get to know you when you’re healthy. Teladoc VPCPs can manage your annual wellness visits and chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and so much more.
