Open Enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to enroll in or make changes to your benefits. This is also the time to enroll or re-enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA), if you are eligible.
The choices you make when you first become eligible or during Open Enrollment are in effect for the remainder of the plan year. Once you are enrolled, you must wait until the next Open Enrollment period to change your benefits or add/remove coverage for dependents, unless you have a QLE, as defined by the IRS.
Got married? Had a baby? Lost other coverage? These are examples of QLEs, which may allow you to update your benefits outside of Open Enrollment.
Getting married, legally separating, or getting divorced qualifies as a Life Event

When you or an eligible family member loses or gains coverage under any other group plan.
