Support Your Health with Medical Benefits

Niagara offers medical plans that help you stay healthy. Consider all the resources available to you and your family.

Get to Know Your Options

We’re proud to offer you medical plans through Cigna, designed to help you and your family get the care you need at an affordable price.

New for 2026: Starting in 2026, all medical plans—including the Cigna HSA—cover three Virtual Primary Care visits at no cost for each covered family member. Need more than three? No problem! From the fourth visit on, it’s a $30 copay, even if you haven’t met your deductible—no matter which plan you’re enrolled in. Convenient care, predictable costs. That’s a win-win!

Get to Know the Cigna HSA Medical Plan

The Cigna HSA Medical plan provides a flexible way to manage health care expenses, combining comprehensive in- and out-of-network coverage with the ability to contribute to a Health Savings Account (HSA), which can be used to pay for eligible* health care expenses. Plus, it offers valuable tax benefits!

*For a complete list of eligible expenses, visit IRS Publication 969.

Cigna HSA Medical Plan + HSA: Two Plans in One

Cigna HSA Medical Plan Your Health Savings Account (HSA)

This is your main health plan. It’s like typical insurance, but with a few key differences:

  • You pay the full cost for care (doctor’s visits, prescriptions, etc.) until you hit your deductible
  • After that, you split costs with the plan (coinsurance); you pay 20%, the plan pays 80%
  • Plan to pay more up front, no fixed copays

This account helps you cover those higher early costs, until you hit your deductible (and beyond):

  • You can save tax-free money for medical expenses, like doctor’s visits and prescriptions
  • Your HSA funds help you meet your deductible and bridge the gap until plan shares costs
  • Unused funds roll over and earn interest

What Are the Advantages?

1

Niagara matches $0.50 per $1 you contribute to the HSA, up to $500/individual, $1,000/family.

2

You’ll pay lower monthly premiums.

3

Enjoy triple tax savings on HSA contributions, investment earnings, and withdrawals.

4

You own the HSA, so your money goes with you if you change jobs or retire.

5

Unused funds roll over every year; you can spend or save money in your HSA.

Are You Eligible?

To be eligible for an HSA, you must be enrolled in the Cigna HSA Medical Plan and may not be covered by another health plan, including your spouse’s medical plan or their Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Additionally, you cannot be claimed as a dependent on another person’s tax return or be enrolled in Medicare or Tricare.

Get to Know the PPOs

The PPO plans offer the flexibility to choose an in-network provider each time you need care, and you’ll pay a fixed copay  for some services. Remember, you’ll save the most when you stick with in-network providers.

What Are the Advantages of a PPO?

1

Each family member has access to FREE Primary Care each year. Niagara covers three (diagnostic) Primary Care Office Visits at no cost to members, in addition to your free Annual Wellness Visit!

2

You will experience a fixed copay for other services (specialist visits, urgent care, emergency room, prescription drugs).

3

In the PPO plans, your office visits will not apply to the plan deductible. Other related services such as labs, imaging, etc. may apply to the deductible. We recommend reviewing the pharmacy deductible and services that apply to the deductible.
